The goal for our renovation is to provide the best environment for our bed & breakfast guests. We originally renovated the entire property including the landscaping, installed new sidewalks and Patio, installed a Fire Table, and completely changed the exterior surfaces and color of the two buildings, completely gutted and remodeled our home and the Bed and Breakfast rooms and replaced the roof on the main building in 2010.
In January we felt it was time to upgrade our property again to keep everything in tip-top shape. Here are the most recent renovation this year in January 2022:
- Completely repainted the entire exterior surfaces and trim of both buildings.
- Installed new Inverter HVAC Systems in each BNB room so that the air system in each room is completely isolated and there is no cross ventilation between rooms/guests.
- Repainted the shutters and the outdoor wall art and trellises.
- Purchased all new premium linens ( Comphy Co. Sheets, Hammacher Schlemmer Towels) for the BNB rooms.
- Installed a top notch LED Landscape Lighting System with the light color called ‘Moonlight’ producing a lovely ambiance on the grounds.
- Re-upholstered all of the fabric patio furniture and updated the frames and metal tables with paint as needed.
- Installed new upgraded flooring in both BNB bedrooms.
- Repainted the BNB rooms with the same peaceful earth-tone paint scheme.
- Replaced the roof on the smaller building.
- Completely remodeled the Business Office.
- Replaced all of the Patio area outdoor wall sconce lighting fixture.
- Power Washed all concrete surfaces on the Patio to brighten it up.
- Improved the garden landscape plantings with a covered archway over the iron gate, driftwood art on patio table, air plants in tree, a new plant called Angel Trumpets that is fragrant only at night, and some new lawn art.
Safety Updates:
- We now utilize non-contact communications to protect ourselves and our guests and have protocols to send each guest the information that they need to enjoy our amenities and to locate their Room/Parking Space and gain entry to the property; a Breakfast Menu to choose the items they would enjoy for Breakfast in their rooms and/or on the Patio; a Pool Rules sheet so they can safely enjoy the pool; a map and list of walkable nearby restaurants, pubs, coffee shop, convenience/liquor store.
- We completed all of the necessary adjustments and requirements for the California Hotel & Lodging Association and we were granted their ‘Clean & Safe Certification’.
- We fully utilized the pandemic down time to make major improvements and modifications to update and maintain our high standards of quality and to offer a safe environment for our guests to enjoy!
